HOW  TO  DIGITIZE  MY  BUSINESS

WHAT IS DIGITAL MARKETING?

Digital marketing, online marketing or web marketing is the marketing of products or services using digital technologies mainly on the internet using desktop, laptop, mobile phones, display advertising or any other digital medium. Digital marketing involves SEO (Search Engine Optimising) SEM (Search engine marketing) SMM (Social Media Marketing) ORM (Online reputation management) e-mail direct marketing,

SEO or Search engine optimising is the process of affecting the visibility of a website, web page in a web search engine’s organic or unpaid results of a web search engine. In general the earlier or higher up in the rank table and the more frequently a site appears, the more visitors it will receive. SEM, SMM, ORM are all methods to bring in more and more visitors to a website.

WHY DIGITAL MARKETING?

Digital marketing has already set it’s foot print on the Indian market, we already are in the habit of making purchases of goods and services online. Online marketing has become a challenging threat for the traditional type of businesses. Consumers are nowadays more comfortable with shopping from their homes online. A market study in 2010 revealed that 80% of the traditional offline consumers, before making their actual purchase visit several websites to find out information regarding the product they are interested to purchase, hence owning a website nowadays is of utmost importance.

A study by PTI and published in 29th December 2014 ( http://www.tech.firstpost.com/news-anlysis/indian-online-shopping-to-increase--to-67-percent-in-2015-report-247318.html ) revealed the following facts:
(a)    The average spending by Indians online purchases is expected to rise 67%
(b)    About 40 million consumers had purchased something online that year and was expected to grow to 65 million in 2015.
(c)    The overall e-commerce industry valued at roughly Rs 1,08,167 crores had been growing at a compounded annual growth rate of about 35 percent each year, the study said it is expected to cross Rs 6,36,281 crores by 2020.
